Tuesday Teaser...Excerpt from the Novel Indigo! Now Back to Your Regularly Scheduled Blog!
“May I?” she held out her aching arms, her eyes almost afraid to ask, afraid that maybe she didn’t deserve this.
“Yes, of course” Christianna said and she indicated that Steven should take the baby.
He did and handed him gently to his grandmother who waited. She looked down at the brand new little person in the blue blanket, forgetting to breathe, forgetting everything but the tiny perfect face that looked up at at her
As her eyes met his bright alert ones she inhaled sharply and breathed one whispered word that filled the entire room with mystery
“Indigo.” She said and her voice was full of wonder.
Well..there it is...a teaser from the now complete first draft of the book I am working on, Indigo!
Already my mind is bubbling over with ideas, things to bring it together, things that should go or be altered in some way and always I am searching for descriptions and inspirations and maybe in the next week or two I'll come across some of each of them but now, I'm shifting focus. I have visitors coming in a week and it will be well up in November before they leave again.
So back to regular blogging, some poetry, some writing, an occasional excerpt if something strikes my fancy, but otherwise I'll try to post on something other than my own projects. It feels very exciting. I mean I could die now and I would have left something behind, created completely out of my imagination. I made something! Manuscript will be printed this week! I'm going to edit by hand with pen and red ink. I can't wait to get started!
Thanks for your patience, now back to your regularly scheduled blog!
Between now and my publication date anyone who comments on a post is automatically entered into a draw to win a copy of my poetry book, Wind Rhymes!. The book should be released somewhere around the end of October! No limit, every comment is an entry!
